Welcome to the UGA Alpha Chi Omega House!

1064 S Lumpkin St
Athens, GA 30605

Each fall, rising sophomores have the exciting opportunity to live in our beautiful and historic Alpha Chi Omega house, located at 1064 S Lumpkin Street. Originally built in 1957 and expanded in the late ’60s, early ’70s, and again in 2021, the house has been a cornerstone of Beta Sigma’s identity for 61 years. Thoughtfully designed across four levels, it offers everything we need for living, studying, and making lifelong memories with our sisters.

The first level is where many of our chapter’s events take place. The Chapter Room serves as a spacious gathering space for chapter meetings, sisterhood events, and other functions. This floor also features a dedicated Banner and Craft Room; perfect for creating banners and prepping for events. An elevator is also located on this level, ensuring the house is fully ADA compliant and accessible to all.

The main second level is the heart of our house! The dining room is where our sisters gather for chapter meals, with plenty of seating to accommodate everyone comfortably, as well as a covered porch for enjoying meals or relaxing outside. The adjacent kitchen and butler’s pantry is equipped with a double serving line and buffet style dining. The sun porch, located directly off of our basement stairwell offers a sunny outdoor space to unwind with sisters. Additional spaces on this floor include the Library, the Georgia Room, and the Formal living room ideal for studying or socializing, as well as the foyer and mail room.

The third level houses our bedrooms, which offer a variety of room layouts to accommodate 72 bed spaces, including 2-girl, 3-girl, 6-girl options, and a corridor leading to the 4 girl suites. Each suite consists of two 2-girl rooms connected by a shared vanity and spacious closet area. This floor also includes a social lounge— perfect for unwinding with friends after a long day. The fourth level is our quiet space with a Study Room, providing a secluded, peaceful environment for focused work or late-night cramming. This floor also has an additional bedroom and bathroom.

Fun Fact: Every Alpha Chi Omega house across the country features checkered floors! It's a signature design element that represents the tradition and unity of our sisterhood. So, whether you're in Athens or across the nation, you’ll always find that distinctive black-and-white checkered pattern as a part of our chapter's history and identity.

Living in the Alpha Chi Omega house is a unique opportunity to grow closer with your pledge class, connect with sisters across all grades, and experience the deep history of our chapter. The “Alpha Castle” truly is a home away from home!
